The Glen Gets a FaceLift!!
The Watkins Glen race circuit is undergoing some improvements in the off season and we can't wait until May to check them out:
The highlights are:
Along the portion of the course known as the inner loop or "bus stop," the existing gravel trap will be replaced with a paved run-off area, which will allow more side-by-side racing throughout the tight turns. Additionally, a SAFER barrier will be installed along the interior concrete barrier wall and the existing catch fence system will be removed with a modified version installed.
Turn 5, also known as the "Carousel Turn" will include the removal of the existing grass to pave an extended run-off area and the installment of a rumble strip built to FIA specifications along the track edge of pavement. The existing guard rail system will be modified to install a crash attenuator system, to help absorb the impact when a car makes contact with the wall.
Similarly, the project in Turn 10 will include the removal of a portion of the current gravel trap, which will be replaced with another paved run-off area. Additionally, the current FIA rumble strip will be extended along the track edge of pavement.
Finally, Turn 11 improvements will feature the installation of a SAFER barrier in front of the exterior guide rail system. Additionally, all grass areas between the new SAFER barrier and the track will be paved to help provide better traction when a driver is attempting to bring their car to a stop.

Preparing for the Track
Now is the time to prepare for upcoming track events. IMP Motorsports in Clifton NJ has been servicing track cars since 1979. From the simplest procedures to race car conversions they can do it all. Also on site is an AWD dyno for testing and tuning all performance levels.

In addition to the schedule listed on this site, PDA has dates reserved for Corporate Events. This would be a closed event, limited to the group or groups that have contracted us to run a date for them. We also match smaller groups together that may not have enough people to contract a date by themselves.We would provide the access to the track facility, as well as instructors and corner workers. We provide a track prepared 5 speed Mustang GT, an Instructor, classroom instruction, a helmet and a photo package of your day. These rentals will be available at track facilities throughout the Northeast. You Arrive, You Drive, You Learn- It's Simple!

MONTICELLO MAY 14 IS CANCELLED ! ! Anyone who has registered can receive a refund or be moved to the June 25 Monticello event.
INSTRUCTOR TRAINING- April 11 at POCONO-East Candidates must be running in HPDE4 and have multi-track experience. Register online. There will also be OPEN TRACK for HPDE3 and HPDE4 drivers. Limited space, you MUST register online. We are also looking for people who wish to work at events throughout the year and we will have a training session April 11. No experience needed!

REGISTRATION IS OPEN for LIMEROCK on March 27 and April 30. These are full days for all HPDE groups. Registration is also open for Monticello on May 14 and June 25. These are HPDE days, all groups.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND at NJMP is open for registration.
